Gunther: "Is Leslie Knox in the hallway?"
Rosa: "No, Gunther"
Rosa: "I really don't think he's a threat, ok? Stop worrying! I gotta run. See you later"
Gunther: "Rosa's right. I'll stop worrying about stupid Leslie-"
Les: "Knock knock"
Typical bully. Hitting from behind. You’ve read the book Gunth, spin around, open-hand smash to the point of the chin, knee to the groin, then finish him off. Improve the species. C’mon Mr. Evans! Let the bully get what’s coming to him for once!
Knuckle punch to the throat, Gunth! Or a snap back hand to the nose. Either one drops him. Follow up with a groin stomp and he will stop pestering both of you.
Gunther should quietly and politely walk away and leave the bully to his rantings. Knox would have to chase Gunther down the hall and expose himself for the bully he is. Perhaps Rosa will be the one hiding around the corner watching Knox be obnoxious and then come and stand beside Gunther….or walk calmly away with him.
OMG, just throw Gunth in a locker, give him a swirlie, give him a wedgie, WHATEVER, just get this stupid thread over with and get back to TJ and AI! Seriously Greg, 3 weeks straight of this is bloody torture!
So long, Rosa. Hello, Leslie. Now, either Gunther gets pounded into dust or he mans up and deals with this bully once and for all. Which shall it be? Greg usually manages to come up with something unexpected….
It’s usually the “picked on” that get in trouble. I had two bullies that bothered me in high school and when I fought back I was the one who got suspended.
Tune in tomorrow. Don’t drop the ball, Greg, everyone wants to see a satisfying climax, not another fizzled out disappointing missed opportunity. No passion between TJ & Ann, no New Year’s Eve kiss for Gunther, no Hollywood surprise for Tiffany.
Greg doesn’t develop an arc just to pass time. It’s time for Gunther to move up a notch in the food chain – especially with a love life since that wasn’t in the cards with Luann. Leslie provided the conflict/impetus to improve Gunther’s image. Don’t expect to see him come out of this with life as usual. My guess is that he deals with Leslie with renewed energy, as revealed in his panel #3 expression. NOT extreme violence, but with enough confidence to give Leslie pause.
Oh my. Me with thousands of fights, especially if you count the ones where I taught Gunthers to be men and women to defend themselves…AND my name is LESLIE…which is probably WHY it happened to ME in the first place..and I’m watching this and on tenterhooks…
All comics go through evolutionary changes, but this era of Luann comics…well, I never had any interest. Now, today’s series is excellent and I never miss a day. Have a nice vacation, Greg. See you again on the other side. :)

I think Leslie should have a look at today’s “Close to Home” strip (02/21). I think he’ll realize that’s “Gunther” on the platform.

I still say this would be a great time for Dirk to come and save the day. Making him a good guy would really complicate things.
