One of the things I do appreciate about this strip these days is that it’s so degenerated from its previous level that I’ve gone looking around for other strips; and found so many better ones that I’m spoiled for choice. See you people on, for example, Candorville or Stone Soup.

Good grief! It’s getting crowded in this men’s room! Why don’t both Knute and Gunther get out in the hall and let Crystal be about her business in privacy and dignity?

I remember a bit of graffiti on the door of a male rest room when I was doing a course. The only bit of doggerel that made me smile. Some wit had written “Beware of Limbo Dancers”.

Since we’re on such a bathroom arc here, yesterday I thought of a site that provided a lot of chuckles – it’s about bathrooms, starting with the phenomenon of decorative soaps that are not to be used. The comments are hilarious – though there is a little salty language, for those who object. Really no worse than a unisex restroom.BTW, we are an odd society in the U.S. We make so much out of privacy yet we advertise most products using sexual innuendo and display. About 20 years ago my wife & I took a bus trip through Europe & I had to use a public restroom in downtown Vienna – As I was using the urinal, a female attendant came in to clean up the area and nobody paid any attention. I was surprised, of course, having no previous experience with European attitudes.

And made an above-average play for Tiffany. Got to first base with her!

I am wondering if many others feel this way… but this particular story line of the OCD Knute and the bathroom issues for Crystal is a rather weak story line for this comic. Usually, the story lines are more interesting to me. Perhaps it is just me, however, and others find this arc similarly interesting as usual.

I think the problem is that Greg doesn’t know what to do with her. She’s deliberately not mainstream, he’s given her a [now outdated] Goth sensibility and made her a loner, and he has no idea where to go from there, so he just inserts her into situations where a body is needed, whether it suits the character, or not. And it’s usually not..For example – it’s utterly ridiculous that she’d have anything to do with Tiffany: their styles and aesethetic are totally at odds with each other, Tiff has a room temperature IQ, which she does not – the only purpose she serves is either a Mean Girl chorus to back up Tiffany, or as a soloist to needle and deflate her. Bernice serves the same purpose with Luann, but at least Luann isn’t as clueless about the gibes as Tiffany is. The beauty pageant? Makes no sense that she’d want to participate – again, Greg just uses her for filler. .The last time she was remotely interesting was the Bernice/Zane arc and it looked like she might’ve been a rival. And that promising idea just vanished.
