No, Tiffany makes it big. She hits the big time, in movies.Someday she will be a star. And they will wait outside withthe crowds, to see her. And although she doesn’t have muchof a mind, I think she knows this, she senses it. Remember her brief brush with Hollywood?

Lots of right-sized cup holders, multiple AC controls, and the ability to change the station without taking your hands off the wheel would be wonderful. Comfy seats that are good for napping in are important too.

Add in good gas mileage, lots of get up and go, and reliability, and you have the perfect car for me.

Most people enjoy having a practical car. One that doesn’t have a place for everyone to set their drinks is just begging for a disaster. Cue the groans of every man who reads this :)

Back to the comic, Tiffy is a little more bobble-headed than usual today. My college is awesome, and I am not sure what our mascot looks like!

I can see Tiffany owning a popular beauty salon one day that will be filled with customers I wouldn’t like.

I think that as most others are saying. Luann going to (whatever) college, would be a great opportunity to change out a lot of characters. Time for a new line up and new experiences.^^There’s a few characters I’d miss, if Greg did that, but, Miss Phelps wouldn’t be one of them

It’s true. In the world today, people skills are actually MORE important then IQ. The village idiot who’s great with people may well have the genius who’s not so great working under him as his #1 IT guy. But business owners always outearn their employees…

We bought a new car in Sept of 2012 and one of the first questions I ask was how many cup holders, lol. I have grandkids that I have to haul around and I want cup holders for everyone, not that I let them in the car with a cup of anything too often but they come in handy. My husband is a studier of Consumer Reports and we went through there before we even looked at ANY brand of car. We got a Honda CRV and I love it.

Tiffany is going to community college. Now we know for sure where Luann is going. Some of the other characters may go elsewhere and only show up at Christmas and in the summer, but there is no way Luann will lose her day to day nemesis.

The only way that college will help or benefit you is if you graduate with some kind of honors. At the very least, you must graduate in the top third of your class. If you’re anywhere less, especially if you’re in the lower half, your diploma will be worhtless. I’m not saying that ‘s right, I’m not saying that’s the way it should be, I’m saying that’s the way it is, like it or not, and there’s nothing you can do about it.

And employers couldn’t care less about education when it comes to hiring. The first thing they’ll ask is, “Do you have any experience?” or “Where have you worked?” Even though you obviously cannot have experience when you’ve just graduated school, they’re going to ask those questions and will expect to see experience. Again, I’m not saying this is right or good or as it should be, but it’s the way it is.

College is a grand thing, but it’s no ticket or key to success. And it guarantees nothing. Sorry, folks, but that’s the plain, sad truth.

I have not found that to be the case. And summer internships simply don’t count. And they don’t stand up when the other 40 to 60 applicants have ten or more years of experience.

To the earlier comment about needing to graduate college in the top of your class, has anyone consideder that 1/2 the doctors in this country graduated in the BOTTOM HALF of their class?

50% of getting a job is who do you know, and another 50% is the perception you are able to give to the interviewing team. The remaining 42.7% is you. Add that up! :-) Laughing quietly…

Actually, this strip has two great career ideas:1) Crystal becomes a career counselor2) Hollywood stars all need makeup, and Tiff has already proven herself as a gofer. Helping apply makeup would help give her connections and voila— bit parts! While Luann stays in Pittsville and stars in community theater.*In that last scenario, who would be the “winner”: Tiff for having contact with the real Hollywood, or Luann for actually acting?

    THIS is Robbie…

Robbie starred in “The forbidden planet” ; he was also featured in the Twilight Zone and even made a couple of appearances with B-9 on Lost in Space…. he was the “Crush, kill, destroy” Robot… and yes they are brothers, they were both built by the same man, designer Robert Kinoshita

…no, not all women are like that, but some are. However, it seems that most salespeople seem to think that all women are like that – when I was out car shopping, the first question that was always asked of me was “What colour are you looking for?” (and, just to throw the cat among the pigeons, I’m not even BLONDE!!)

“of course longer experience counts more! Duh”++Well, there you are.And of course degrees are not worthless, or should not be considered so. My point is that hiring managers today think them to be worthless, unless, as I’ve said, they have a high class ranking. Once again – I’m not saying that this is good or right. I’m saying that this is how it is. And I say that because this is what I’ve seen first-hand, and still see it now.

Time for Luann to start training in her new role as Vampire Slayer, for Bernice to start practicing witchcraft, and for Tiffany to move to Australia to work as Quill’s secretary (a year after which point she will start getting visions from the PTB which will guide them into all sorts of wild demon-slaying adventures).
