Nah! I was first!!! (I think…)

Either way, it’s the best ending for this arc, and I’m really pleased that it happened.

Even better, we might get a completely new arc on Monday. Maybe back to the warehouse, with more stuff about the Dr. Strangelove, I mean Mr. Grey…

Somebody is disappointed that Piro’s gone.

“Wonder if he’ll want breakfast?”-Do Bernice and Dez have a kitchen in their dorm room? I guess one might have been implied by the brownies Dez made a few weeks ago, but that doesn’t seem realistic for a typical dorm room. If Piro woke up in a typical dorm room and wanted breakfast, I’d expect him to go to the cafeteria or dining hall.

Perhaps Piro left early before Bernice got up herself.

Interestingly, Luann Againn’s ‘toon today starts with Bernice fixing her hair, too, but before going to bed (alone). And she’s thinking about how Derek, the guy she was so crazy about (till she figured out he was actually a drug dealer) was going to lose everything that mattered to him, including her.

She probably never realized that she didn’t actually matter to Derek. He was just using her crush on him so he could ‘borrow’ her locker to store his ‘products’ in.

And I don’t think she had decided to ‘bed’ Piro, here. She had probably decided to start her counseling career on him, because she had noticed that he had some issues (some!). She had said herself that she didn’t want him to be attracted to her, so she most likely saw him as someone coming to her for help. Just like she didn’t understand the situation with Derek, she doesn’t understand what’s going on with Piro.

Hope we do get to see him getting some real help in a future arc. Maybe with a counselor for returned vets, or something…

Yes she put on earrings, and she’s wearing a more stylish top than usual, and she’s actually primping! She’s being more than just a considerate hostess here…

I wonder if Dez ran into Piro before he left?I dare say we’ll find out, someday….

Well of COURSE Old ‘Star-Head’ is GONE. How the HECK is a Poor Non-Student supposed to get Any SLEEP around Here with some Annoying, Chatty, Bat Swinging, Door Latching, Olive Oyl REJECT Stomping Thru the Dorm every five minutes????

About one month ago (Sept 26) Quill being asked out to lunch by an unknown character. When will we learn this person’s identity? A month is to long a gap for info that affects the MAIN CHARACTER Luann.

I really want Bernice to get a boyfriend. She’s been a wallflower too long. And no losers.

I think Dez is hot. Course, I think all women look hot at my age.

In a sad teleportation accident Dez and Bernice are scrambled together. Wild drumming fills the night, only to stop precisely at 10pm for bed checks. The new creature is called _____ .

Bernice seems to be a magnet for weirdo’s and losers(Derek).

That does definitely seem to be his thing. Which is why I figure he’s homeless, for whatever reason…

People can become homeless for a number of reasons, like a medical bill that wipes them out, or a job loss, or low income that makes them have to choose between first/last month rent, and another needed expense (like tuition or med insurance). During the so-called ‘Great Recession’ here in Central Florida, a number of teachers lost their homes because school districts eliminated art, music and other classes (not enough state tax dollars to pay for them). Those teachers still owned cars, laptops, etcetera and ended up sleeping in those cars. They went through their savings while trying to find other jobs and either couldn’t pay rent, or couldn’t pay mortgages.

There were businesses who let those teachers park their cars in the business parking lot at night, so they wouldn’t get into legal trouble for parking illegally to sleep in their cars.

There are still a lot of homeless families in Central Florida with parents who are employed, but they just don’t earn enough to pay the high rent for apartments here….

I’m not sure Bernice was ready to seduce Piro… let’s just say she was open to possibilities!

The suite probably has a toaster oven and/or a microwave. Bernice could prepare an English muffin or a Pop Tart or a Hot Pocket or some such, if Piro wanted breakfast. At the very least (assuming they have a mini-fridge), she could offer him a bowl of cereal and fruit in milk, with toast. Maybe he wouldn’t mind a bowl of instant oatmeal or instant grits, which requires only a kettle of boiling water to prepare. Not exactly Belgian waffles and T-bone steak, but freeloaders can’t be choosy.

I think Piro will be back…. in a later arc….. maybe Bern scared him off by walking out in the middle of the night with boots and a baseball bat. But surely, if she thought about it from his point of view it is obvious that he would not want to be discovered sleeping on the couch given that Bern has a roommate and there are other students around. I believe he appreciates her kindness and will show it at some later time.

With Piro, Bernice may have a tiger by the tail if she tries to pursue a relationship.

And sincere condolences to her family andfriends.

All her performances were great, but myfavorites were in “McClintock!” and“The Parent Trap”.

Apparently weird costumes are just part of their ritual, so she must have purchased some angel or fairy outfit specifically to wear to these occasions. Again, it wasn’t just “Hey, I have a pair of wings for no reason, these would be just the thing to put on!” like Bernice’s baseball bat was. Does Bern also have a hockey stick, a football helmet, and a discus under her bed?

I don’t think it’s a sexual assault joke and I would be the last to think sexual assault is a joking matter. I’ve mentioned previously that I’ve been date raped and sexually assaulted a number of times, including being drugged without my knowledge on two different occasions.*I just happen to think that Bernice has the bat there for protection, a smart move on her part. Every girl should be prepared and a bat makes an excellent weapon. I recommend pepper spray too.

So far in this college we’ve seen a motley crew of eclectic characters. Are there any yuppie types (BA—MBA—BMW !!) or old money preppie types (Daddy will buy me the BMW) at this university?

Bernice is definitely disappointed…She is dressed in a rather flirty type manner, don’t ya think??
