The one person she has ever really trusted is Gunther. If it is him, I will be very curious if he brings Bets with. Anyone want to bet, I mean wager? Sorry.
Now we’re rolling. But, with Ann controlling daddy, we better be rolling in something like a Sherman tank. Wait, what is that card she has, “Have Gun, Will Travel…..wire Paladin, San Francisco”. Yes.
“Hello? Yes, I need help… oh, Irma; this is Tiffany. May I speak to Al? Thanks!”
“Hello? Who is this?”
“Hi, Al, this is Tiffany, yeah…, yeah…, the one that Les likes. Anyhow, this guy by the name of Greg Evans is bent on destroying me bit by bit. I need you to send him a clear message that I’m sick of it and I’m not going to let him get away with it any longer. So this is what I need you to do. I know that you have a reputation as a ‘fixer’. Well, I need you call in a couple of markers and …”
HELP!!! I NEED SOMEBODY!!! Who or what might it be? Maybe the school wellness center? Not on Thanksgiving though, it would be closed. Help doing what exactly? Coping might only be a misdirection. Stay tuned to this channel.
As established earlier this week, whoever Tiffany is calling, it is not one of the usual suspects. Everyone else is at Thanksgiving festivities. Be those festivities charity work at the seniors home, family dinners at-home or out-of-town. After repeatedly stating “I have plans” in response to invites by others, I think she would want to avoid hurting her pride more (which is already hurt enough) by letting anyone of those people know her plans changed. There is a limited number of people or organizations she could be calling given its approaching evening and a holiday. I have a feeling she is calling a 24-hour helpline of sorts, but if not it is going to be someone both Tiffany and the readers are familiar with. In case of the latter, my thoughts are Krystal, but more likely Elwood.
Tiffany NEEDS help. A lot and quickly. I don’t know who’s calling. But if it’s a therapist, a helpline or Mrs. Fogarty is good.I also hope she may have called one of those who invited her, maybe Bernice or Dez. However, it’s nice to see her determined to react.
Tiffany reminds me of a former classmate. Head cheerleader, most popular girl in school, dated only high-school jocks. Seven years after graduation, was divorced three times, had to move in with her parents with 3 little kids, worked a menial job with only a high-school education. Tiffany should have realized that high school is a steppingstone to more education or a trade.
She may be able to be successful without anyone’s help (although I doubt it), but she can’t be happy without other people, any more than anyone else can. Lonliness and happiness don’t go together.
Ok, cliffhanger and I kind of missed (probably) in estimating Les or someone would call her. Indicators as Mordy said a crisis helpline of some type. Not a totally bad thing since the holiday season is one of the biggest time periods people have crisis, especially if G&K give the number and then show an intervention that positive (I do like the idea of Al taking down Ann but really I’d prefer him taking down Tom).
Worried about her all week…yes, I know she’s a fictional character…glad she’s called for some help…instead of what COULD have happened…it’s been done before in comic strips…
Nice…. and a relief…. no longer is there the “dark” worry.
So, the debate is for me:
1) Helpline, therapist of another venue, friend? I am kind of thinking Greg will aim for a friend.
2) With a friend the likely contact…. is this to be a “heartfelt” learning/growing arc, or will it be a “revenge” type arc…. and if “revenge” will it be serious or madcap? I am thinking it really is a tossup here.
3a). If heartfelt leaning and growth…. I bet she is calling Bets.
3b). If revenge…. I suspect she is calling Les…. for another attempt.
I’m sorry. I don’t have time to read ALL the comments above. I think Tiff called some sort of helpline. Whomever answered the call said something like this: “Hello. This is ________. May I help you?” Based on what Tiff said in the last panel.
What irks me is that it’s the victims of emotional abuse, such as children of malignant narcissists, who seek out the therapists, but never the perpetrators who themselves are in even more dire need of counseling but would never seek it because that means admitting they’re flawed.
Tiff, you are your own in this big bad world. Your dad cares more about Anne then he every will of you. Your friends could help but you don’t want to ask them. And some have perents that might try to help you.
I just want Ann to get what she deserves! When does THAT happen? Maybe some old warrants catch up with her and she goes to prison…hmmmm…good storyline for Les too.
Good girl, Tiffany!!! The first step in becoming a strong, independent woman is realizing that nobody EVER makes it alone. I don’t know who you’re calling. Possibly a hotline, which would be fine. I am so happy to see this. I might just stay with the strip after all.
Hello is followed by a question mark, so I think someone called her. Maybe it is someone who got the wrong number thinking they are asking an expected person who didn’t show if they need help.
While Tiff has been portrayed (in the past) as lacking in the kinds of humanity one would get growing up in a family that provides lots of emotional support, she has always displayed strength and determination (and of the inner kind) which is now on display. It takes an amount of this (strength) to reach out as she seems to be doing now.
I’m thinking Tiffany calling the CEO of Souffle Lingerie. Her father can’t be bothered to listen to her about Ann’s scams, but Ann needs to be stopped. Simone (the CEO) should have been informed about the illegal parties sooner, but it must not have been easy for Tiffany when her father took Ann’s side without even listening to her.
Here’s hoping Souffle’s CEO will launch an investigation about Ann Eiffel. It’s time for her to get knocked down some notches.
2nd. panel: The dominatrix, sturdy and sexy, and ready to strip off those confining work duds, get into her new leather outfit, and wait for Gunther to arrive.
Actually, wasn’t she doing a bit of counseling with what’s her name from Highschool? She’s not being too emotional, i.e. no crying unlike third panel of yesterday’s strip.

I guess the question on EVERYONE’S mind is: “WHO” is Tiffany calling?
I would suspect that due to the formality of the conversation, that it’s some sort of crisis hotline.
But wouldn’t it be nice if Tiff was calling Bets?
