    My mother does the same thing to me :), she constantly acts nervous points out the obvious and tells me. “Your driving like an idiot and we’re going to arrive dead” I have to argue that its more then likely we will be killed before arrival. :)

    “Arrive dead.” That’s some mental image. The car will pull up and park itself with the mangled victims inside. But I guess it’s human nature to assume that others can’t see what we’re seeing. Surely we’re the only one paying attention.

    Many a year ago (not that many, actually) the school bus driver threatened to tie my friend into her seat if she didn’t sit down.

    Kids today (says the old codger) are conditioned to believe that they inherently know more about most things than adults do. After all, don’t TV shows constantly tell them this? TV show written by… adults…
