You got to start somewhere. Once they build up their momentum, they can practice without benefit of gravity.
Another example of a bad idea to start at the bottom. The first one is swimming, and the 2nd would be a slide. (I learned the hard way the 3rd would be an escalator.) Walk up, ride down is pretty good mall walk exercise.
