This seems like a pre-VCR comic, where, if you missed it, you couldn’t see it for six months, but I guess the kids who watched would talk about the shows the next day and, even if you couldn’t catch it until the weekend, you’ve missed out.
These kids are too young for homework. All the schoolkids I see in comics today have life-experiences years ahead of what my cohort had at the same age.
