Even with his toenails clipped, my daughter’s dog makes that sound when he walk on their hardwood floors. It is even more fun when he is running when we play ‘fetch’ with him.

I have a 12 pound Shih Tzu who makes very little noise on hard floors…until she wants to go outside, then she sounds like a 120 pound dog stomping across the floor!

@russ5419—-They sell them in pet stores & look like a Dremel tool—not sure what they are called. You can actually use a Dremel tool at low speed (high speed creates friction & burning heat) with a sanding barrel head, if you are careful. I think the pet store version had a guard on the head to prevent hair from getting caught in the sanding part. They do work, & it is easier to shape the toenail ends, & stop short of getting into the nail part that contains blood. I usually ended up with a bleeder with clippers, as they would jerk their leg just as I was snipping.

I just use a Dremel (cordless version) on low speed with sander head on Moxie. I started when she was young and she’s fine with it. I usually do a little every week. I didn’t do it this week as she was playing on concrete at Day Care all week and seemed OK (plus I have a cold and even the garage is freezing).
