Of course it ruins the fun of the comic, but the reality is people need to have control over their pets. So many don’t care and they bother all kinds of other people. In some places that gets them poisoned or shot. People are supposed to be smarter than animals.

Notice, Marmaduke was accused of taking food from the squirrels, not taking the squirrels FOR food, whereas King Tut was (justly) accused of murder!
