Marm is so smart that he can ignore commands in several languages.

Knowing is one thing, obeying is another.

At least he’s standing still this time, don’t think Phil can handle another run like Tuesday’s…

If poison ivy is the vine on that tree, Phil should be bellowing, “RUN” and yanking full-power on Marm’s leash!

They’re not “commands”, Phil; they’re “suggestions”!

Made me think of Curly in “Disorder in the Court”

    “Do you swear?”

“No! But I know all the words.”

Wait, it takes a while for him to decipher the codes. Yes, he is indeed an enigma.

We had many friends with kids that wanted us to come train their kids as we trained our dogs as our were so well behaved LOL

You can teach old dogs new tricks, the trick is, do they want to learn new tricks?

Had a dog that I wanted to pin a button on that I saw, which said “I’m not deaf; I’m ignoring you!” Also had an elderly dog who was actually hearing-impaired, but selectively. He couldn’t hear me yelling his name at 200 decibels, but he (literally!) could hear the refrigerator door open!
