I’d love to comment on this strip…..but it would be so politically incorrect it would upset a lot of women. It’s nice the world still has some Lila’s that don’t assume all men are creeps. The rest I’d like to say can’t be.
It’s a difficult issue. After more than two decades in corporate America, I’ve know women who have had to deal with terrible harassment and I know men who have been unjustly accused. That’s why I wanted to bring it up in this strip.
JWF: You have done a great service to men and women everywhere in this too politically correct. Political correctness has accompanied the most evil and bloody dictatorships in history.
Okay, here goes. “PC” is used to describe labeling that serves to shut off discussion of anything the hearer finds offensive or threatening. For example: why is the leading cause of death among young black males other black males? “That’s racist,” instead of actually discussing the problem. “Blaming the victim” is a variation. We already know society is at fault, and we won’t tolerate any other explanation. “Simplistic.” The very fact that an idea explains the data effectively and concisely proves the explanation is wrong. Wrap your head around that one. Does that help?
Oh please. Those were pretty intense “compliments”. I wish I got those, though. Used to, but those days are LONG gone. The thing that always gets me is that if Lila is so gorgeous, why can’t she get a good man?
a) She dresses like a floozyb) She’s shallowc) Both of the above
Oh, she’s worn many revealing things in the strip both in and out of work hours. But mostly I was having a little fun with Annie’s remark some days ago.

The Department of Labor’s definition of workplace harassment contains the word “unwelcome.” If it isn’t unwelcome, it isn’t harassment!
