I once had the weird sensation of driving past a Radio Station’s studio while listening to them reporting “Warm & Sunny all day today” during a downpour that limited visibility to about 20 feet.
I Knew exactly where their broadcast studio was located and it was about 50 Feet to the Left of me at the time.
One of the TV weather people here in Chicago would go to the fire escape and look out just before he went on air, referring to it as the ‘Forecast Fire Escape’. Amazing how much more accurate he was than many others.

In Cleveland, they blame every weather situation on “lake effect”.

In Edmonton our weather men/women live in a salt cavern and never see the light of day.. never mind the current weather.

For the medium term, I rely on the Accuweather. But for my IRL, I go with Les Nessman’s Eyewitness (I witness) Weather.

Historically, weathermen are convenient whipping boys for cartoonists, but I find them to be pretty accurate.

Nowadays they use drones and laugh at us for listening to them forecast sun or rain or whatever and try to dress accordingly.

No, they don’t. So many times I have thought, stick your heads out the window, people.
