That is rather unfortunate. But then, I do love a cute Tomboy! And yes, it does seem that gender bias has always been around. I see no differences between a girl learning martial arts and boxing. Girls should, IMHO, know how to defend themselves.
It’s good to exercise and challenge yourself but nature and biology has the gender bias. Individual cases vary but in general. Greater height, skeletal and muscle mass. (Though, helping where needed and self control, I see with great(er) power comes great(er) responsibility)
