I’ll never forget the CSR from a credit card company, whom I was trying to resolve a payment issue, asked me if I could pay $1,500 today (this was several years ago). I was so frustrated because she asked me this after I had told her that I had been unemployed most of the year and had no money in checking and only $50 in savings; nothing else. I asked her, what part of my telling you that I only have $50 don’t you understand. She said “I understand , but can you send us $1,500 today?” She was brain dead, or something and I about blew my stack.

Yeah, the less you use credit cards the better - problem being that sometimes you cannot avoid it (rental cars and such).
