I rarely send photos to some friends anymore. While I am an avid photographer – more avid than accomplished – I do take time to make the best pic I can and then work on it with graphic software to improve the quality. To send a really nice photo only to have it viewed on a 4×6 screen in low res, is to me just a waste of time.
Same when same friends try to show me pics of their families or vacations by flipping through them at high speed on small screen. To quote Gertrude Stein from years ago: There just is no there there

In this world, it’s easy to get a picture of roses on your smartphone, but don’t bother to stop to smell them; they will not smell as sweet.
