I was using Google Maps one day to see how a neighborhood I grew up in had changed. Pushed the zoom til it switched to street view and it had a picture of a guy in bee keeping gear working on his hives. This in a suburb just outside the city line of Pittsburgh, PA.

Google Street View is the only way I can afford to travel. With VR goggles, it puts you in the picture.

I use street view to look at the last street or two of my destination. I navigate primarily by landmarks.

I find google earths information is so old that in many cases it’s not like that any more.
