Reminds me of the “Who’s John Muir?” gag from the old adventure game Sam & Max Hit the Road.

I don’t think he’s related to the Muir I know; but in any case, I endorse Monty’s course of action.I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that very print advertised in in-flight sales-catalogues more than once….

Monty thought the poster would work like a Cerebral laxative. You know, get the ideas flowing.

I’m not sure motivational posters work the way they’re supposed to:http://www.dilbert.com/strips/comic/1995-09-06/ But I think a poster with Ratbert would be more inspirational. And John Muir is the guy with the park in Rise of the Planet of the Apes. “The power of imagination makes us infinite.” – John Muir“Run for it, mom!!!” – Ratbert I don’t see how Muir could motivate anyone.

Moondog could star in his own motivational poster. Not.

I have a picture above my desk that shows a hand playing a piano and says, “You’ve had to accept that you may never have another chance.”

I like the “De-Motivational” posters that are out. those are better and not freakin’ sappy/annoying.

Who is John Muir??!! I would hope that Meddick knows who John Muir is. If he is using his strip to encourage his readers to learn more about John Muir … he certainly is going about it in a strange way. For those of you who don’t know, John Muir is one of the preeminent conservationists in American history. His work led to the saving of Yosemite and the establishment of the National Park system. He was a sweet and gentle man … but he was voracious in his battles to maintain American wilderness.

Hate to go all conspiracy guy(well, not really), but wasn’t Yellowstone National Park originally conceived as a government cover-up for the great locust plagues of the late 1800’s?

“Locusts? What locusts? Those were “grasshoppers…”

I had heard of John Muir but had no idea who he was. So I looked it up. Now I know. Am I inspired? That remains to be seen.
