I was recently reminiscing to a neighbor how as teens growing up in TX, we used to hang out inside the local Dairy Queen in the hot summer with a fist full of soda straws. We would wet the ends of the paper sleeves, fold them back a few times and blow dart them onto the ceiling, where they would stick, for about an hour, waving in the airconditioning, until they dried out and randomly glide back to the tables. Guess whose son overheard the conversation and then was sent to detention the very next day at school….

That reminds me of Jr.High where the ceilings were all plywood. The boys were always sticking pencils (and sometimes pens) into it.
