So you see... Before the age of mammals, dinosaurs were... Y'know what?... This is boring. Enough about dinosaurs and mammals! You may be interested in that stuff, but I could care less! It's all ancient history! Get over it! Ha!... And to think they called you guys warm blooded!

I think Moondog meant he could NOT care less. Sorry, personal pet peeve that drives me up the wall.

Here in the UK it’s “I couldn’t care less” so I guess the US version is just sloppy speech. The really odd one is “Cheap at half the price”, which sounds completely illogical – surely most things would be cheap if they were half the price? – but which is actually a cut-down version of a street vendor’s cry that their goods were “Cheap at half the price you’d find in the big stores”.
And yes, birds are warm-blooded too, and so were at least some of the dinosaurs, especially the immediate ancestors of birds. In fact, biologically speakingyou have to say either birds are dinosaurs, or therapods (and perhaps other dinosaur groups too) were birds, because there are no massive biological differences between modern birds and therapods, any more than there are between bats and other mammals.

Rather cold, Moondog, but true enough. Pilsner needs to improve his people-skills until he’s ready to embrace his inner bird….

the only time men are warm blooded, is when they are making a pass.

Ugh that old “could care less” mistake again. It irks me so much. It’s “couldn’t care less” if you don’t have any more cares to give. If you “could” care less that means you still have some cares to give.

Man has met his match. Pilsner is at the top of his evolutionary arc (he has the ability of speech, after all), and Moondog is rather near the bottom of his. Poor Moondog can’t match Pilsner any more in this debate and so he falls back on the old boredom excuse. Score one for the birdie.

To finish the statement;“I could care less but it wouldn’t make any difference.” Both ways are right.

He means “I couldn’t care less.” If you could care less, you care at least a little.
