Many decades ago, when I was trying to get into the Air Force Academy but had been told up front that they wouldn’t take me due to my glasses, I did this very thing for the optical part of my physical exam. I got into the room ahead of the eye doc and memorized the lowest lines on the chart. But I couldn’t bring myself to carry the deception thru to completion, and after nailing the 20/15 line, I gave the game away by quoting the copyright statement. They would have figured it out sooner or later anyway.
Now, that’s what I’d call a powerful prescription! Make the doc stick with it, Monty! You’ll have huge fun! Or course, you may be a teensy weensy bit short-sighted….

I first saw that joke in a Superman comic in the 1950’s.

I remember this gag from a Bugs Bunny cartoon, y’know, since he eats so many carrots.

This joke is so old, it needs to get fitted for bifocals.
