One of my all-time favorite political cartoons came out when the Philadelphia Police Department was under a lot of criticism for excessive violence. Panel 1: Little girl tearfully asking cop in car for help in getting her cat out of the tree and the cop responding “Sure, kid.” Panel 2: Grinning cop blazing away at something off-panel, look of shock and horror on the little girl.

Brother’s a fireman, they ask callers if they’ve ever seen cat skeletons in the trees. Town doesn’t allow them to waste time with this stuff.
