I wouldn’t trust a “truth serum” any more than I’d trust a “lie detector”. They’re both about as effective as Wonder Woman’s “magic lasso”, which is also a work of complete fiction.
Giving truth serum to one’s valet—there’s a proverb regarding that, I think. In any case, it appears that the truth serum works, it’s easy to imagine Jarvis thinking such things, but hard to imagine Jarvis saying them.
