This strip can be a good spelling quiz for the kids: prehistoric, disquietingly, rhododendron, formidable.

Some cartoons have very predictable story arcs. Doonesbury is especially reliable in this regard, always having a consistent run from Monday thru Saturday. Others, like Dilbert, Argyle Sweater, or In the Bleachers, are a different gag every day. Even Non Sequitur, despite its title, has occasional runs of continuing story lines mixed in with the one-offs. But Monty has always been all over the map, arc-wise, and I’m totally OK with that.

That’s one big, hungry guinea pig! I hope Young Master can control it! Or else, it could eat them all out of house and home….
