I live in Germany now. I don’t have to worry about those kinds of nightmare scenarios. Germans never did. Nor any Europeans, for that matter.

Lagers in the 50’s used to have more Hops. A shame that cost cutting ruined many good beers.

When did consuming beer become so sophisticated? Which came 1st, the wine snob, or the beer snob?

The local craft breweries around here make excellent beer. I’m happy the craft beer scene has exploded. It’s now easy to get excellent beer.

There are two local breweries near me. One is twenty miles away in Ft. Kent, Maine and the other is in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada…about 14 miles away. I’m well known at both! Beer is much cheaper in Canada and that’s where I go to fill my growlers. Never a problem bringing a couple gallons of beer back across the border.

I don’t believe Moondog’s reaction. As long as there was plenty of it, I doubt if he would care what brand it was.

My guy is partial to an ale called “Alien Amber” that’s made here in our state (New Mexico) on the random occasion I want a beer (usually a hot summer day) I like a Corona or regular old Budweiser

Traquair, a Scottish ale. Got a few bottles at BevMo. Hope they bring it in again.

I remember being 18 when Lowenbrau became popular in the U.S., back then you could drink at 18.

Back in the 1600’s most homes had their own micro brewery run by the goodwife. Everybody drank beer since it was usually safer than drinking the water.
