Single women live longer than married ones, and single men, less than married men. Not really funny how that works.

Married men don’t really live longer than single men, it just feels like they do.

Don’t know if anybody said this already, but being a widow is absolutely no fun.

Beyond Grimmy’s ‘widow’ comment, it must be true becasue my one Grandmother outlived two husbands and three boyfriends. All the men where about her age at the time.

I guess widows do live long. My mother lived 90 happy or so years. She taught school, a task she relished since she had always wanted to teach youngsters read, write and do their math. And, she was very good at it. But, lymphoma cut her dream of teaching 40 years, so she had to settle for 39. She got a commemoration from the President and Vice President, Clinton and Gore, who should’a gotten the presidency since he had the voters on his side, but not the electoral college. And she got a trophy from her school. So she was a great Teacher. And, she spent many years trying hard to teach me, her ever lasting student.
