When I was in school the kids who sat in the back (usually by their own choice) had bad grades because they would rather goof off instead of pay attention.

And there was the side by the windows (so you could look out and day dream) or the side by the door (so you could get out quickest when the bell rang.)

Unfortunately most kids in the back don’t think that seeing the board is much of an incentive, seeing that they rarely look at it.
