H&H was only in New York and Philadelphia. But thanks to the influence of NYC on America via movies, books, magazines, etc. – and cartoons – Automats were known throughout the country.
I remember the last one in Philly in the 1970’s. I believe H&H was done in by the rise of fast food.

Last one closed in 1991. But nice to see how things use to be back then. Specially with people leaving their pies on their seats to hold their places.

They do have the automat from H&H in the Smithsonian as I recall.
