When I was a teen, I took my future wife to the drivein and for $3.00 I paid admission, bought popcorn and a coke for us both plus gas for my old ‘52 Ford Pickup. During the summer, Mondays was buck night—-a dollar for as many as you could crowd into the car. That’s when I borrowed my mother’s ‘59 Ford Galaxie 500.

Two questions:
(1) Why was Cicero starting in the middle of the walk, instead of at one of the ends?
(2) Where’s the theater that shows 50-cent movies that aren’t porn?

Actually, I took my girl friend to a movie and we each had popcorn and a coke for 50 cents.

When I was a kid (long after this strip originally ran) they still had 50-cent kid’s matinees on Sunday afternoon at my local theatre.
