    My Dad and I used to get in the movies for $.24. $.09 for me $.15 for him during the 1940s.

    I used to get $3.00 weekly allowance. I’d have to put gas in Dad’s ’52 Ford pickup, pick my girl up in another town, about 20 miles from Houston, take her to the drive-in and buy us popcorn and take her home after the movie.
