Reminds me — in reverse — of how Audrey Meadows got the role of Alice Kramden on The Honeymooners_. Gleason thought she was too beautiful for the part when he saw her picture (_a la Mrs. Mutt in panel 3). He changed his mind when he saw other pictures she had taken, where she looked more like Mrs. Mutt does in panel 1 — and he didn’t even recognize her.
