When showing pictures of my grandparents’ farm, I’d say “This is the barn Dad was raised in, no, this is the house Dad was raised in.” When I told Dad about that. He told that, actually, when he was a toddler they’d leash him to the wall of the barn when they were milking so he wouldn’t get underfoot (especially since the vast majority of feet had hooves).
