70s dring the days, mid / low 40s at night. Not wanting to arouse envy, I shall not talk about the weather here again until I have something to complain…. or be happy about.
Slim that would be The Grapes of Wrath! One of Henry Fonda’s best. And, the great voice of John Carradine!
Have any of you folks seen “Once Upon a Time in the West”? It is an incredible movie…….with Henry Fonda as a really really really bad guy! The rest of the cast is worth watching, especially Jason Robards and Charlie Bronson, and the music is one of Ennio Morricone’s best.
Aw, Rita, you beat me to it. I actually knew that one!
BTW, from yesterday, the Jessica Fletcher novels were written by Donald Bain, but the covers list both of them as authors. They are all written 1st person from Jessica’s point of view. I know they are all available on Amazon.com and were released only in paperback. The only problem I had with them was that some of the minor details of Jessica’s backstory doesn’t match what was on the show. If that doesn’t bother you, they’re not half-bad mystery novels.
Simone Simon…Kent Smith…..Jane Randolph 1942 There are cats, and then there are CATS.
I was, i beleive, eleven when I saw this movie. I.m sure my age had something to do with the fact that irt remains one of the sacryest films I ever saw. Unrelenting suspense and terror.
Slim, Cat People was a SCARY movie. The remake was even worse, but only because they showed the gore unrelentingly. While the first one scared me, the second one disgusted me and I stopped watching it about halfway through.
The movies made in recent decades leave nothing to the imagination. It was a lot scarier to leave the gore off-screen, because your imagination took over and what you thought up was soooo much worse than anything they can create on film, then or now. Now it’s just “ho hum, more gore”. Roadkill in human form. I’ll pass.
JanCin….. It was the scene with the blood coming under the door. I had ducked my head down and when the screaming stopped I looked up just in time to see that.
I have never forgotten it, even after almost seventy years.

Slim, I’ve been getting beat up on the Gulf Coast so badly the last few times.
The only redeeming thing is they give me all my food and a complimentary suite during my stays.

Good morning all.
It’s in the low 20’s here, nippy, not cold. Cold comes in Jan. Feb. when there’s a minus sign before the number. (Brrrrrrrr)
Winter comes and nothing we can do about it, so make snowmen, or women, or even kids.
I’ll leave you with that thought, hope you don’t throw snowballs at me.

It certainly is “the Grapes of Wrath”. I haven’t seen it since I was a kid, but I remember bits of it. I think?
