More about Screwauger Canyon. The second day, with the sun behind the ridge, II sat down with a cup of coffee at the edge of the creek. A few minutes later a water snake slid out of the water with a fish in it’s mouth. The snake was a couple of feet long. give or take. The fish about three inches long. I sat there hardly breathingas the snake slowly worked ti’s jaw to turn the fish til it had the head in it’s mouth. Every time the fish wriggled, the snake would stop moving it for a few seconds, til the fish stopped. When I finally took a swallow of coffee, the snake vanished into the water,I have seen many sights up there in the hills, isolated as I tended to be. Cougars, bears, feral dogs, as well as the not dangerous kind.
Y’all wouldn’t believe the amount of paperwork that goes into buying a house like this. Well, I guess most of you would, but I’ve never bought a house before, and I’m getting overwhelmed by it all.
Hello all you happy people..Yes I would, buing a automoble is bad enough, I come out a new car and writers cramp..Still watching the skyes, and an umbrella at the ready..That story of the snake is quite interesting, would like to see something like that. When I was delivering newspapers in the wee hours the morning I saw many things like: a mother racoon with three little fuzzballs running around her, I raced a deer, or rather she raced me, and I think I saw a Catamount..Catch ya later.\\//_
Good morning, Everyone,.Just got off the phone with our son in Raleigh. They’ve had rain and wind all night, with power on and off most of the morning. The worse is to hit them around noon their time while Irene works her way up the coast..Right now it’s just a bad storm…….nothing like what they’re getting on the coast. They’ve had some tree branches fall, but they were “dead” already. Hopefully they won’t loose any trees after that..Good luck to the rest of you East Coasters. :))))

Good morning Villagers. Even though I live in a “safe” part of New York City, I must finish taking all my stuff out of my balcony.
