David, I know what urgoing through in the process of buying a house. I went through the same thing when I bought my condo in Miami 17 years ago. I don’t know how people can just pick up and move from year to year with all the paperwork, not to mention moving of one’s possessions. Good luck!
Due to taking a friend visiting NY on the Staten Island ferry and then immediately going to the Turkish Consulate to celebrate the end of Ramadan and the next day visiting a friend in Queens who wanted me to see his new apartment (a 1/2 hour walk from the subway with the metal rod in my leg – those avenue blocks are LOOONG), I was too tired to follow up on my 16 or so GoComics for 2 days. So, before today’s GoComics were up I read 2 days’ worth of comics. My eyes were so bleary, I had to skip some of the comments and go to sleep; that’s why I didn’t comment early in the morning.
Morning, Vagabonds. Man, I can’t believe I slept this late! 7:00 AM!
Arye – thanks for sharing. My case is even more involved than most because I’m not only dealing with the realtor, I’m also applying for an FHA loan and dealing with the bank that repo’d the house. And at the same I’m dealing with my pensions department to withdraw the necessary funds for the down payment and closing costs. And that means working with a CPA to know how much money to set aside for income tax. Fun!
A good weekend morning to you all..Old Mother Nature woke me this morning with a t-storm..I also watched this one that stared: John Wayne, Richard Widmark, Ken Curtis, Denver Pyle. It’s a revolution.1960
GOOD AFTERNOON ALL, HOPE THE LABORDAY WEEKEND IS SAFE FOR ALL,that’s the time of the year I stay off the road. Going to hunker down here at the lake , and just swim, socialize and do a little boating.
Afternoon, everyone. I was beginning to think that the old folks had already gone to bed, and the rest had left town for the lom\ng holiday weekend. One week to go. I am a bit excited about this B’day. I stand in front of the mirror and ask myself, “How in the bloody he-l did you get this far, dude? You were constantly putting yourself in harms way?”Well, this is one cat that lived through his curiosity. Just had frequent moments of serendipity, I guess. Then, too, they say on;y the good die young.
Just thinking….. My life reminds me of the title of one of Clint Eastwood’s early spaghetti westerns. It kinda fits…..“The Good, The Bad And The Ugly”.Not the movie itself, just the title.

Not to mention the fact that I have to have two appraisals and an inspection. Then I have to have a local permit!
