Good morning, Villagers. I never mentioned it before, but I self-published a fantasy-fiction book called “The Promise of Bisibi.” You can see the front and back covers (with an excerpt on the back cover) on my Facebook: Arye Barkai

It’s “fantasy fiction” as opposed to “science fiction.”

I am about to do something I’ve never done before…..In the spring of 1969 I was in love with a lovely young lady with long red hair. There was another suitor for her affections.I had to leave for a family thing, and when I returned more than a week later, they had run off to Las Vegas. I never saw either of them again. What resulted from that was a short spate of poetry trying to handle my feelings. The only time I ever wrote free-form poetry. I bared my emotions, but never let anyone see what was written. I want to show how…….. Here is one……“My peace of mind is completely shatteredBy the shadow of your existance. I try to think but your image walksThe pathways of my mind,Constantly distracting and beckoning. I wander about, eagerly searchingFor something to hold my interest. But now there is no such thing, except you.Do you want complete and unconditions\al surrender?I give it willingly.I want my peace shattered,For you to make me whole again.I want your image before my mind. What is wrong with me?Is love an illness?will you be my doctor? You ARE the only cure.

You are the first to see that. It brings back memories that are uncomfortabe. I can close my eyes and see her…..

    Morning, Vagabonds.

Slim. Very interesting, to show your emotions like that. That’s what poetry is for, in my opinion. I tried it myself back in college when I loved a girl from afar, but my stuff wasn’t worth sharing.

    Here’s the link to Today’s Annie .

Good morning, Gentlemen Villagers,.It’s good to see that y’all have a very sensitive nature! Never tried my hand with poetry, I guess there weren’t those “guy” heartbreakers in my life. I only had a few “beaus” before I met My Mountain Man, and it was all over but the shouting!

Very nicely done, Slim. I tried my hand at poetry in High School. Found the notebook again about 10 years later. Let’s just say, I’m glad I kept my day job. I still have that notebook.
