I finished reading “John Wesley Hardin, Dark Angel of Texas,” by Metz. Now I’m going back and rereading Hardin’s autobiography. It’s fascinating to see how Hardin was so careful to tell “his side” of the story!
Good morning Vagabonds.Sunny this morning, but, it’s all down hill in the afternoon. A cold front is due tomorrow..IT’S HERE! IT’S HERE!! At 10:21 am EDT. The Autumnal Equinox is HERE! ;-)Already we have trees beginning to turn, it will soon be very colorful here..Well, I intend to enjoy this last good day that starts in the Summer and ends in the Fall. All you good folks enjoy it to..ttfn
Today we are going to visit our friend Cecelia. I’ve told you about her – she’s dying of cancer and has now lost the use of her legs. She is the most wonderful sister in the Lord and was the first recipient of one of our comfort quilts. It is almost like losing my mother all over again to see her failing, but I (and she) know where she is going and that’s a comfort.
I’m still working on my part of the quilts. I heard last Saturday that if you have never had to rip out a seam, you aren’t a quilter. Well, I proved that I am a quilter multiple times yesterday, even if all I am sewing is a whole lot of 3 1/2 inch seams.
It is balmy 75 degrees outside, still somewhat overcast but not bad. It never got above 80 yesterday, and today’s forecast is for 83. Another good day to leave everything opened up.
Thanks, Mark for the EXACT time for Autumn! We always photograph the sunrise at the equinox and solstices, just to show how far north and south the sunrise is. Today we don’t have a sunrise because we are actually getting RAIN!!!Hurray!
I dragged out my really old computer (it still has Windows XP), and boy is this slow!!! It takes forever to change web pages, and forget about downloads! So, if this still works, I’ll be able to visit with everyone. :))
Jan, I love your quilting stories. I’ve had a lot of seams to rip out in my career. It sure is forgiving, isn’t it.

Good morning Vagabonds.
A little chilly right now at 60 but will go up to 80 later today.
Then over the next three days in the 60’s. I don’t like it, it’s too soon.
