    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Yesterday’s excursion was a lot of fun. We drove up to St. George, Utah and had lunch at the Cracker Barrel. They have a neat little store in the restaurant lobby and we spent a bit of time looking (and buying). Then we drove a back way through a twisty mountain pass (our favorite kind of road) south to Mesquite, NV. We spent a couple of hours at a black jack table and reminded ourselves how much we enjoy the game, even when we don’t win. (We had a budget and stayed well within it.) The banter at the table just makes it better.

It was cooler in St. George. It got up to 102 at the highest. Coming home through that pass it got down to 99 and then stayed at 105 most of the rest of the trip. When we hit Vegas, the concrete jungle kicked the temperature up to 121. Once we got home it was back down to 106.

The cats were glad to see us come home, and in spite of the heat went outside immediately when we opened up their door. Of course they didn’t stay out long and blamed us for the temperature.

The water was turned back on by the time we got home and the only thing we had to deal with was the sputtering of air in the lines.

I’ve been to the radiologist lab this morning for an ultrasound of my abdomen and a bone density test. I had a student tech for the ultrasound, so what usually would take about 15 minutes took an hour. Oh well, everybody has to learn sometime. I don’t expect any surprises, and don’t even know why the doc wanted the ultrasound.

Our forecast is for 109 today. I’m staying inside for the rest of the day!

Everyone have a safe and blessed day.

    Good afternoon, Vagabonds.

Not much happening today. It was a cool 65 this morning and it is now a warm 88. This is the first time today that it has been warm enough for the air-conditioning to come on.

I have to admit that I have had a very lazy day so far. Just watching TV and reading books books. I am currently reading Lee Hollis’ Hayley Powell series, it is a quick and easy read and it is keeping me occupied.

May you all have a blessed and peaceful day.
