Playing chess is starting to get me hungry.

I’m afraid I don’t really get it. If the pirate R! is supposed to make a pawn a prawn, that’s stretching it.

The board setup looks a bit strange as well. The white king is very exposed and the white queen seems to be blocked by the white knight and bishop. Not a good position. Just being picky about details since I don’t usually notice them.

BTW, this is the 2nd tie-in with Apple® this week; what gives?

I have a feeling that pirates would play chess out of boredom rather than any real enthusiasm for the game. Over the years, pieces get lost, new rules are made up, and one day you’re playing with a prawn instead of a pawn.

I think - in my brute force stupidity about such things - that the Cap’n is realizing his mistake and commenting on it (via a bad pun, it is true).

well, at least he didn’t use a real horse’s head for the knights; all that gooey blood would make the chessboard too icky
