Why is “etiolate” being used as an adjective here when it’s actually a verb that means “to bleach and alter the natural development of (a green plant) by excluding sunlight; to make pale; to deprive of natural vigor; to make feeble?” To paraphrase Calvin, adjectiving weirds language!
