I, too, have no idea what that means. When I asked them, they just clammed up.

I’m pretty sure “Happy as a clam” is a shortened form of “Happy as a clam at high tide”. Unfortunately some of its clarity got lost in the shortening.

And here, it keeps on raining…….

Maybe they know the crab from Mutts.

Just clam up and enjoy the beach.
