Transcript:
Nancy: Aunt Fritzi---Can I please water the lawn?
Aunt Fritzi: Okay.
Sluggo: I thought you HATED that job.
Nancy: I used to---But I LOVE it now. Aunt Fritzi had this water pistol attached to the hose.
Bushmiller used this garden hose water pistol again in the strip of August 8, 1959. That strip is soon to be the most celebrated “Nancy” strip ever with an entire book devoted to the analysis and explication of that single episode and how it encapsulates everything one needs to know in order to understand the art and unique grammar of the comics. You can see the strip on the cover of the book at Barnes and Noble’s website, bn.com, by looking for the book entitled “How to Read Nancy.”
