We’re gonna need a bottle of Visine the size of a KEG for this one! ;-)

Ah, the old ash can…coal fired furnaces…ashes and clinkers saved for traction on icy sidewalks and roads…opening the hot box to shovel in more coal…shaking the ash grate to get the unburned clinkers and ash out…banking the fires at night to be sure you had hot coals to restart the furnace in the morning…ah, the good old days…

Don’t forget the wood burning oven. Half wood on one side to heat the oven on the other side. No temp. on the oven but what wonderful foodcame out of it by just adjusting the wood on the other side. Those were the days.

Nostalgia: remembering the past without reliving the pain.

Remember: that to someone, somewhere, THESE are, or will be, the good old days.

A big part of the reason why the near future will be so agonizingly horrible with the repressive heat and violent storms and wars over resources.
