Nancy: Boy---It sure is hot today. And just think-two months ago it was snowing.
Noise: SOCK
Nancy: Thank goodness--That can't happen now.
Sign reads: CRUSHED ICE CO.

My favorite “Eek & Meek” strip by Howie Schneider, back when the characters were all still mice, has Eek (or perhaps it was Meek) hit from behind by a snowball, clearly thrown by Monique. “Are you crazy‽” he says. “Where do you get a snowball in the middle of July?”
“Oh, you know,” says Monique. “A flake here, a flake there…”
I see that this strip is dated May 5. That was a far more appropriate date for the line “just two months ago it was snowing.”
This reminds me of a Bushmiller Sunday strip from the 1970s where Nancy dreamed that Sluggo had thrown a snowball at her. She got out of bed and went out into the snow. The last panel showed Sluggo in his bed and being woken up by a snowball thrown through the open window.

“Curiously refreshing.” Now all you need is the gin and tonic.

If the company’s product was crushed ice, why was it coming down a conveyor belt into a garbage can? Rejects?

I’m sure throwing ice at a person is a felony in some country.
