I assume that this was a pre-supermarket ice cream era.

Question, or maybe just an observation. Some of these strips include a tagline stating the date on which it was originally published. Others don’t. I had assumed they were tagging the ones that seem anachronistic, but that theory is debunked today. Anyone else got any ideas on this?

Earnie Bushmiller retired Nancy comic strip. I don’t know why the original date isn’t stated. Curious…..

All this dating aside, at least the cones went to a good home!

I remember my grandparents having big chest freezers in the early 1950s. They raised turkeys for sale and the three big freezers in the barn were always full in the fall and winter. Funny… I have no recollection of them butchering the turkeys. Either they took them somewhere for processing or I just blocked it out of my memories.

Tough getting them home in that condition. And seems Fritzi has no control over Nancy.

Doesn’t the cone get soggy when you store it like that?
