Bushmiller’s Cake in Panels #1 and #2 suggest a pork-pie hat design to me.

I find the contrast of a ‘cake/hat’ with the herring-bone pattern of Nancy’s dress to be superb drawing.

However, I hanker for a rewording of Nancy’s speech balloons in the first two panels; referring to a grand pork-pie hat in Panel #1, and just loving the hat’s stingy-brim in Panel #2 instead of loving a cake with delicious icing.

I’m an icing fiend, too. I can imagine Nancy standing in the corner after Fritzi has had a go at her with the hairbrush.

Her thoughts: “Worth it!”

I would also have accepted cutting a thin slice, and taking the rest of the cake.

Nancy sure is going to town on that grand cake.

Just to see the look on Fritzi’s face when she sees what Nancy has done with the cake!

And thus, the layer cake was born…

NANCY ain’t no dummy….dats clever

Nancy should be a lawyer. For politicians.

Best slice ever…. icing on the top and on the bottom!

Now yer thinkin’.

Perfect little angel. Smiling, too.

She took the best part of the cake!

Nancy Classics – simple chuckles, just as my wife and I remember them! :)

Then make her eat it all in one sitting. The sick feeling will return if she wants to do it again.

Call her porky instead of Nancy.
