I wonder how many years it’ll be before this strip is incomprehensible to the average reader? I think castor oil is mostly associated with inducing labor these days.

I wouldn’t laugh too hard, Nancy…they’ll probably find somewhere else to get the castor oil from…

Ew! Cod liver oil….my mom gave that to me when I was young. AWFUL

Castor oil was primarily used as a laxative. There must have been a lot of constipated kids when this strip was drawn.

I guess at one time it must have been a very important medicine for kids. Don’t think it is used anymore.
