I admire the wee tridents in panel #2 and 3 that Ernie used to signify the creases of pant leg material bunching up behind the knees of the standing firemen.

And, Sluggo’s left pant leg in panel #3 gets a mark-of-the-trident!

How can they run fast enough to keep up with a fire truck?

“There’s my dumb dog—chasing cars again,” says the kid chasing emergency vehicles (i.e., a fire engine) down the street!
