My experience went the other way. Lived across the street from two big grocery stores, and I found that if I went in when I was hungry to find an immediate meal, that nothing would look good to me, and I’d get feeling worse and worse.
I don’t remember how it all came out. Apparently, I did manage to feed myself at some point. (I just mention this so I’m not keeping anyone in suspense here.)
That’s funny! Every Saturday my family and I go do the weekly shopping and depending on when we leave the house we either stop by a restaurant to eat before we shop or we shop THEN eat. We’ve experienced both the shopping on an empty stomach and buying darn near the whole store and shopping while completely full and coming home with barely anything to get us by for a whole week. During the latter times, we simply do another round of shopping later in the week when we run out of food. lol
Fun fact: Last week was a “shopping on an empty stomach” kind of day and two of the items I threw in the cart were peanut butter and jelly…something I haven’t eaten in at least a year or two, but it looked good at the time! It’s now Wed and I haven’t had the urge for a PB&J sandwich yet.

Better hurry, Aunt Fritzi’s make-up is starting to unravel.

Fritzi seems like the sort to keep a Clif bar in her purse anyway though

It was either Carlin or Gallagher who pointed out that this doesn’t work for liquor stores.

Fritzi is getting so hungry that she will only by what is towards the front of the store. Fruits and vegetables.

Knowing Nancy’s appetite, she’ll stall for another 15 minutes. If her aunt is smart, she’d at least get a piece of fruit in her.

Careful, folks; I’m minded of the time Fat Freddy got the munchies and trashed a grocery store… ;-)

What I like most about Jaimes’s version is that her Nancy is pure Id, which is much funnier and also much closer to how kids really are.

I generally stock the fridge up about once a month, then any grocery runs are just to top off milk, bread and such. :)
