The way I see it if you are not being smart about it, but acting really stupid about it, then people will be QUICKLY convinced that you are an idiot. Your mission accomplished. Go with the not being smart.
Today is the first of a five-part series highlighting the Labor Day strips done on OJ’s first 5 years on Nancy.
September 3, 2018: In the heyday of broadcast television, a few shows (especially new ones) would show at the end of their season premiere some snippets from several upcoming episodes that had already been taped to get viewers interested in coming back each week to see the new storylines play out. A few first issues of comic books did that as well, if the creators were working ahead. OJ apparently decided to spoof this concept for her first Labor Day strip (besides playing on the old joke of so many people having to labor on Labor Day).
Until the 2018 Labor Day strip, seven months into OJ’s run, reader interest in the “new” Nancy had grown slowly but steadily. Now it became an Internet phenomenon. Of course, the panels have not been used (or haven’t been yet!) but that was part of the spoof. Nancy had now become a daily must-read :)

At least Lyle won’t be too surprised with the news about Nancy’s subpar math results.

If the past twenty years of politics has taught me anything, it’s that being smart alienates more people than it wins over.

She’s right. Explaining stuff takes too much effort to something whatever.
